In the Fall of each year, our coaches start watching for students who excel in their performance.  Those select students are invited to join the Competition Team.

Our 2010 Competition Team consisted of Joe Maennle, Samuel Kephart, Alex Haines, Nicholas Bear, Kari Brege, Brandon Tucker, Stephen Bottinelli, and Nathan Finsel.  Coaches were Kathy Cardwell, Michael Bear, and Melody Nichols.  All eight members placed in all fourteen events entered at the District AAU Championships in Clemson, SC.  That qualified all eight members to compete at the AAU Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

It was decided that the team would back our most experienced competitor, Stephen Bottinelli, to represent us at the AAU Nationals.  Stephen represented us well by being awarded the Silver Medal in Forms and the Gold Medal in Sparring.  We’re proud of you, Stephen!!
