Belt Testing

Belt Testing occurs every two months.  Instructors observe progress at each class and invite students to test when they feel the student is ready.  Out of respect for the Instructor, students should NOT tell the Instructor when they think they are ready to test. They may ask the Instructor to watch certain techniques for evaluation.

A pre-test will be held in class approximately 1½ weeks before the test.  The Instructor will give a verbal evaluation to each student.  Those chosen to test will be given an information letter and a testing form which MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED NO LATER THAN THE DUE DATE.  The Belt Test fee of $35 is due at this time.  Students who do not return the form and fee on time will be rescheduled for the next test.  Parents!... Please do not withhold testing as a form of discipline.  This needs to be under the jurisdiction of the Instructor.  If there are financial concerns, please talk to the Director.

Belt Tests are held on Saturdays and may last 2-3 hours depending on the number of students testing.  Students may not arrive late or leave early.  Part of their training is in watching other students.
